Blue Turtle Will Miss You... Yes, it is true: Blue Turtle is going on indefinite hiatus. We don't know when or if the next time may be! But we do want to wholeheartedly thank absolutely everyone who has helped us, listened to us, or had a great time with us over the years-- it's nothing without our friends...

As sad as it makes us, as since we don't know where the road will lead, we must part with our beautiful and trusty bus. Yep, we want it to go the next fearless road warriors. We'll miss her so much we even gave her own Facebook page, with details, photos, and a full "video tour" of the inside.

To more good times ahead, we'll see you out there!

Blue Turtle Seduction-- Formed in 2001 in South Lake Tahoe, CA as a loose group of friends playing original music, the band line-up solidified in the summer of 2003.  Using three vocalists and rock and roll rhythm section elements combined with alternative lead intrusments (violin, electric mandolin, and harmonica) the band crafted a sound unlike anyone else.  " Blue Turtle Seduction are a true original. If there is anyone out there that sounds quite like Blue Turtle Seduction I've yet to hear of them." - Wildy's World March 2009.
From 2001 to the present, the band has performed 1,074 shows from Hawaii to New York City, with the majority of those shows performed in the club circuit of the western states.  Blue Turtle has three albums to it's credit: Under Sierra Ground  (June 2004), Deep Sea Rodeo (February 2006), and  13 Floors (January 2008) of which the last was written:
"13 Floors is an international rump shaker, an energized, brightly melodic mind-bomb that'd fit in speakeasies from The Appalachians to Kingston to Amsterdam and back to their home base in California.  Gathering shattered pieces and castaway flotsam, Blue Turtle have crafted a folksy, dub-inflected rock monster that makes you slip your shoes off, touching earth and raising your eyes to the sky  " -- Dennis Cook May 2008.
"Combining electric guitar, acoustic instruments, drums, and harmonica with surfer harmonies, garage grunge, gypsy jazz, pop rock, and bluegrass TexMex, Blue Turtle Seduction takes fans on an unexpected, but rich musical journey." -Janie Franz, SKOPE magazine (October '08) "
Blue Turtle Seduction is Adam Navone on drums, Christian Zupancic on vocals, violin and electric mandolin, Glenn Stewart on vocals, harmonica, and pan flute, Jay Seals on vocals and electric guitar, and Steve Seals on bass.  The band prides themselves on creating music with intelligence and a knack for conveying deeper emotional issues through a fun, party atmosphere.
"If mankind is sinking Titanic-like into the Great Darkness then this may be the band that plays us out, prying a smile from us even as we realize that there's not nearly enough boats or life jackets for all.  Raise your glass and lift your heels to this survivor's hymn." -- Dennis Cook

Who loves going to free shows?!-- It's always a great and fun opportunity to play all age, free shows at a decent hour in the evening.  That's exactly what we'll be doing throughout the next two weeks on the McMenamin's Great Northwest Tour.  These restaraunt/bar/brewery/hotel locations are scattered throughout Oregon and Washington and we'll be acquainting ourselves with them through seven shows.  We'll also be playing two additional shows in Seattle and Eugene.  Hope to see you there!

2009 in review -- Thanks to everyone who helped make this a fantastic year.  In addition to touring extensively throughout the west, we made two midwest tours happen bringing the total of shows to 119.  Some shows highlights include Valentine's Day at the Miner's Foundry in Nevada City, CA, Old Stone Church in Bend, OR with Poor Man's Whiskey, Norman Music Festival in Norman, OK, Highland's Backyard BBQ in Denver, CO, the Blue Up Ball at the Independent in San Francisco, CA, both Tioga Gas Mart shows in Lee Vining, CA, the Oyster Ridge Music Festival in Kemmerer, WY, Mulberry Mountain Music Festival in Ozark, AR, the thunderous lightning spectacle at the Stonewall Tavern in Stillwater, OK, the Earthdance Music Festival in Laytonville, CA, Las Tortugas at the Evergreen Lodge on the west side of Yosemite NP, and here's to a great New Years show!  In June we hit the 1,000th show mark, so at the beginning of 2010 we'll have performed 1,058 shows since our inception in 2001.

Turtles Helping Turtles -- Each year around this time, we try to donate our time to a worthwhile cause.  Last year we helped raise $46,000 for a local Quincy CA boy, Simon Tru McQuarry to help towards his cancer medical bills.  This year we are very excited to donate our time to a fundraiser benefiting the Sea Turtle Restoration Project  at seaturtles.org.  This organization is a leader in sea turtle conservation and protection.  We are the entertainment at their 20th anniversary bash and fundraiser taking place at the state-of -the-art green building, David Brower Center in Berkeley, CA on Sat Nov 14th.  For more information on the organization visit: www.seaturtles.org
